Delivery Staff Sickness Reporting Procedure Briefing- Bristol and Doncaster
The rules for delivery staff reporting sickness have changed with immediate effect. Please read the information below carefully and ask if you have any questions. Failure to follow these instructions will lead to disciplinary action being taken against you.
When to report sickness:
Due to the early starts, ideally delivery staff will notify Phil by 9pm the night before but we appreciate this isn’t always possible. To notify Phil you should call him and not text or WhatsApp message.
If you wake up in the morning and you feel too unwell to come to work notify Phil immediately by calling, DO NOT text or WhatsApp message.
Unless you have agreed with Phil that you will be off sick for a specified period of time you need to contact the office again by 1pm to advise whether or not you expect to be in work the following day. It is very important that delivery staff do this to allow enough time to recruit agency staff or re-organise delivery runs.
What should I do if I have tried calling Phil and he didn’t answer?
Wait 30 minutes and try calling Phil again. If he still doesn’t answer please call Liz or Ben
Be considerate:
Sometimes it will be necessary for you to contact Phil outside of his normal working hours (8am-4pm Monday to Friday) to notify him that you are too unwell to work and we appreciate this. BUT you should be considerate, Phil also has a personal life outside of Furnished Homes. You absolutely should not contact Phil or anyone else on a Saturday, If you need to report sickness over the weekend for the Monday, this should ONLY be reported on a Sunday between the hours of midday and 9pm, or in the early hours of Monday morning if you wake up feeling unwell.
